Welcome to my Q & A page. Here you will find some of my most commonly asked questions and answers. These are questions I receive from time to time as well as some general questions regarding our site. Most of the questions you see below were sent to me via e-mail. Click on the quick links below to take to you that question category : I Dream of Jeannie Dolls I Dream of Jeannie Dolls: (Answer) Sorry, but my I Dream of Jeannie dolls are not for sale. None of my collectibles are for sale at this time. Perhaps, in the future I may decide to sell something, but as of now, nothing is for sale. They are only displayed on the web site to share with you. Thanks for your interest though. 2. I was browsing around to try to find the "Evil Sister" Doll. I also own the Danbury Mint Porcelain I Dream of Jeannie Doll with the red and pink costume (I saw it on the Donny and Marie Morning show about six years ago), but since then I am on the lookout for the same doll in her evil sister Turquoise Blue Costume and Dark Hair. I do not know if Danbury Mint makes her but I wonder if someone else does that you may know of? (Answer) Danbury Mint never created an "Evil Sister" doll to my knowledge. They only made the doll for Danbury Mint in the pink outfit. I've only seen a re-creation of the "Evil Sister" doll in the Barbie like dolls that were sold at Target stores. The Libby Corporation did create the "Evil Sister" doll in 1966. The dolls came in both blonde and brunette. I recently seen an auction for this doll in an original outfit. In my many years of collecting I Dream of Jeannie I have only ever seen two of these dolls up for sale on Ebay. This doll is extremely RARE. 3. I have been looking for a Jeannie doll, can you tell me where I could get one? (Answer) I purchased all of my Jeannie dolls off of Ebay with the exception of the Barbie doll which was purchased at Meijer. Some MIB Libby IDOJ dolls will pop up every so often on Ebay. As well, I have seen all of the other dolls for sale out there on Ebay.
1. I love your Jeannie bottles, where I can I purchase one from? (Answer) I purchased all of my painted bottles from Michelle at www.dreamyjeanniebottles.com. You will find she does excellent work and is a wonderful person to do business with. I can guarantee you, you won't be disappointed. She even takes custom orders. E-mail her and ask her about owning your very own Jeannie bottle. See my I Dream of Jeannie Bottles page for more details. 2. I would like to paint my own bottle, but don't know what type of paint or what colors I need to use. Can you help me? (Answer) Well, honestly neither do since I don't paint them. However, I have seen Bottle Painting Guides out there on Ebay with instructions on how to paint a bottle. I don't know if it tells you what type and color of paint to use, but you could start there. As well, my only other suggestion is to E-mail some of the artists that paint the bottles and see if they can help. 3. Do you know where I can find the clear glass stopper like they used in the first season of I Dream of Jeannie? (Answer) Well, just recently people have discovered that this clear glass stopper actually came off of a 1956 Old Grand Dad Decanter. View the original 1956 Old Grand Dad Decanter Ad. I was lucky enough to find 4 of the decanters so far along with the stoppers. You can view my decanters on my 1956 Old Grand Dad Decanter page. I am very thrilled to own them. These decanters are very hard to find and have become highly wanted. My only suggestion is to check Ebay and search for them in any antique stores as I have been doing. I am always looking for more to add to my collection. If someone has the decanter or stoppers for sale that they would be interested in selling please E-mail me at heather@heatheranddavid.net, thank you! 4. I was wondering, how you had your bottles displayed? (Answer) I have a tall oak curio that I use to display my Jeannie dolls and bottles. I also have some other collectibles in there as well. All of my painted bottles are displayed in my curio, some next to my dolls. Since I have so many bottles, I had to display some remaining ones in my entertainment center along with the Jim Beam Ruby boxes.
Other Collectible Questions: (Answer) Well nearly every autographed photo from Star Trek, Xena, and Star Wars was obtained by myself at Creation Entertainment's Conventions held throughout the U.S. with the exception of a few. During my High School, College, and Career years I attended many Conventions held by Creation Entertainment. All of them that I attended were held in Michigan. I went with friends and family. I even have agendas and tickets that I kept from the events. I don't remember the first one I ever attended, but I do remember it was in the early 1990's. I found these conventions to be fun since you could meet the stars of your favorite shows and obtain autographs in person. Not only that, but it was quite interesting to watch the people. There are only a few autographs that I didn't obtain in person; however, all but one was purchased from Creation Entertainment, which is guaranteed to be authentic. I trust that they are when you purchase them from Creation. Over the last several years though I have found that the ticket prices for conventions have been kind of high. I know they weren't that high in the 1990's. But I guess due to overwhelming popularity of the shows and Ebay they have had to raise their prices. As well, they haven't been holding many conventions here in Michigan, so I haven't had the opportunity to attend any within the last two years. 2. Would you be interested in something I have for sale that you would like to add to your collection? (Answer) I am always interested to see what people have for sale. I of course, as you can see, don't collect everything from the shows because that would take a great deal of money and time, however, if you have something for sale that you think might be of value in my collection or something I mentioned I would be interested in acquiring on my web site, please feel free to E-mail me. 3. Are any of your collectibles for sale? (Answer) No, sorry. None of my collectibles are for sale! They are only displayed on my web page to share with you. If and when I do decide to sell some of my collectibles, I'll have them listed on Ebay under my user id of hmather.
1. I just wondered why do you have this site? (Answer) See Our History web page. 2. I'm interested in what software you used to create your web site since it is very well laid out and packed full of info but also easily accessible. (Answer) Thank you! I use NetObjects Fusion to design my web site. This was recommended by an online friend a few years ago. I love Fusion because it allows your web site to look so professional and has so many features I couldn't list them if I tried. Also, it isn't difficult to learn. I taught myself along with some minimal help from an online friend. I started using Fusion with version 7.0 and am now using 9.0. Each new version has so many nice features that allow you to expand your web site. The program is not cheap I am afraid costing around $200.00, but was well worth it for me because it has given me the ability to develop and maintain a professional well laid out web site. |
