Helllo there! Look at me, aren't I the most beautiful gray cat you have ever seen, hence my name Graycie. Mom compliments me on my beautiful coat all the time. She says she has always wanted a beautiful gray cat, she is in luck because here I am.
They adopted me from the Humane Society on August 1, 2006 along with Ginger. Mom went there with the intention of adopting two cats to give us loving homes. Even though she says how tough it was because of all the nice kitties there was to adopt, I am so glad she chose me and I tell her that everyday by rubbing her legs and asking for attention.
I am more social then my adopted sister Ginger as I am usually out all the time even if that bully Socks is around. You see when I was brought home they had another cat here who likes to bully us other cats around. But that doesn't stop me from being out and getting attention. I just let her know who's boss and stick up for myself as much as possible. In fact, I have now become the new boss of the house and give Socks a taste of her own medicine. Really, Ginger and I made a deal and part of that deal was to get Socks off of her back.
Mom loves how I always lay with my paw stretched out. Like the picture below, I usually always have my paw stretched out and it isn’t because there wasn’t much room in the box. I fit purr-fectly.
I was told that I am approximately 7 years old and my estimated birth date is 7/13/2002. I don't know who my prior owners were as my Mom was told I was a stray. She has a hard time understanding how no one would want me as I am such a beautiful gray girl! Even the vet commented on how beautiful I was when I went into get my teeth cleaned shortly after they adopted me..
They say I have a very playful side to me as I just love to chase Dad's feet under the covers and basically any toys you can find. I’ll even play with Kathryn’s toys if they are on the floor. I love those head bands and balloon strings. Anything I can toss around works. Sometimes I will just dart through the house for no reason at all. I've been known to get the toy feather thing out on my own and play with it. Just because I am beautiful means there is no reason for me to not get some exercise. But not too much. I just want to keep up the playful side of my personality.
Mom says I am the most social cat they have ever had and I love to stick my nose in anything that is going in the house. I also love to lay in the cutest position as you will see to the left. Mom always laughs at me when she sees me laying on the floor with my paws curled up. I love to pose and be as cute as a kitten!
I get along with all the other cats in the house and my favorite new buddy is Sadie. We love to clean each other and then it turns into a play cat fight. I often get scolded for picking on Ginger and Socks.
They say I remind them a lot of their kitty Xena whom they lost in July 2006. Mom says my personality is a lot like her. I will often make little noises for attention and am real affectionate like Xena was.
I have a new hobby and that is running outside with every chance I get. I often sit by the door going into the garage and wait for the opportunity to dart out. I love the outdoors, but they won’t leave me outside. They don’t want me to get lost. Dad and Mom have gotten very mad at me about this. Because they are often going out and getting me from underneath a car (which is a great spot to run to avoid being taken back in). Lately, I will sit by the door and meow, I just want to go out to play. They can’t understand what my fixation is with running outside, but I just love to explore.
Mom says that I eat too much because I am always at the food bowl and I will always let her know when my bowl is empty. But I just have to eat to keep up my energy. In fact, Sadie and I love to eat at the same time. We sit side by side and eat together.
My favorite sleeping place lately has been on top of Dad’s pillow right by his head. He said he doesn’t like it, but I love the softness of the pillow. I’ll also crawl into bed with Kathryn early in the morning. I love to wake up with her in the morning.
I have some of the most unique sitting positions, like the one to the left. I was just relaxing. They think it is so cute and I love to draw attention to myself. I know I have the most pictures taken of me then any other cat in the household.
