For 2005, we didn't get out camping until the week of July 4th. This trip was to Mitchell State Park in Cadillac, Michigan. A favorite park of ours because of the lake and nice sites, we spent 4 days there starting on the 4th of July.

We looked forward to camping with Kathryn this year because she was now in the toddler years and would want to do so much more stuff. Although, we were concerned how she would do sleeping on the bed in the trailer with a guard rail to prevent her from falling out, our concerns were unwarranted. The first night was hard because she didn't want to go to bed till 11pm and was a little scared at first. But, after the first night she slept great and even took a couple good naps during the week during the day. She absolutely LOVES the outdoors and is truly a camping girl! She wanted to walk everywhere and along with that and all the fresh air, she was beat when it came time for bed each day.

We had beautiful weather for our 1st camping trip for 2005. My parents went with us and David's parents came up to visit. It is really beautiful there with the conjoining lakes. You can ride around the lake which is about an 8 mile ride which we did twice that week. Kathryn had many toys that we brought along for her including her favorite of all, balls!

For our second trip this year, we went to Fort Custer Park in Augusta Michigan. We had initially planned this trip with some friends that went with us last here to the same park, but they couldn't make it this time.

Once, we found the park after getting lost, everything went fine. The weather was hot, but not very bad at the campsite because it is so heavily wooded and very private sites. The thing that didn't thrill me is there was only one bath house for our area with only 4 showers. We must have waited 20 minutes or more for a shower, which is the longest time I think I have ever waited to shower at a campground.

We only stayed a night and went home Saturday evening. Kathryn enjoyed herself though and did her usually walking. She is truly Daddy's camping girl.

In the end of July we returned to one of our favorite parks, Wabasis County Park. This park is real clean, has large campsites, and is close to home. My parents went with us this weekend. We had wonderful weather and a really nice corner spot.

Of course, Kathryn enjoyed herself and walked everywhere. We even got to go out on my brother-in-law's boat. They have a nice lake with 2 boat launches. We couldn't have asked for more perfect weather that weekend. David's parents and some friends came out to visit as well.

Our 3rd camping trip weekend in a row this summer was back to Cadillac at Mitchell State Park. My husband looked forward to this weekend because he was able to get a campsite right on the channel which I do have to say is a very nice view and if you have a boat, very convient.

Of course, Kathryn enjoyed herself and was crazy about wading in the lake water which my mother got her started on. She wanted to walk back there and was not happy when we had to bring her in to get cleaned up and ready for bed. She really does enjoy the outdoors. It was another beautiful weekend weather wise.
