Welcome to our 2003 Camping Trips. The first camping trip would have been over the Memorial Day weekend, unfortunately, we had to cancel that because I was sick. Over Father's Day weekend was our first camping trip for the 2003 year.

We went to Wabasis Campground for two nights. Ever since we started going to this campground last year, it has become a favorite because it is so close to the house. Also, they have nice size lots and a decent lake which we can take the boat out on. Although, that weekend, the water was a bit chilly. This was actually the first decent weekend that we had nice weather in Michigan all Spring. We celebrated Father's Day with my husband's parents and his grandpa. The second camping trip for the year was to Eby's Pines in Bristol, Indiana. We had never been to this campground before. We camped with my dad's side of the family. We had a lot of fun. The campground was nice, but we thought it was a bit expensive. The first night was no treat, since they had a water pressure problem in the bathrooms. We had a trickle of water to shower in and the toilets wouldn't flush. But they resolved the problem the next day. Overall, we had a good time. They have two nice swimming pools and lots to do for the kids. They also had a carnival during that weekend since it was their 35th anniversary. Although, I called it a miniature carnival. They had pony rides for the kids including a poka dotted pony!

Over the July 4th weekend, we traveled to the Upper Peninsula to Mackinac Island and over the Mackinac Bridge. It had been a few years since my husband and I were there last.

Luckily, the weather was wonderful, although hot. As soon as we got the campground a storm broke out, but we got set up just in time.

We stayed at the Straits State Park. It is a nice campground and about a mile ride from the ferry to get to the island. The city is St. Ignace. We did a lot of bike riding that weekend. We must have rode around 20 some miles in total since we rode from the campground into the city and over to the Ferry. We also rode around Mackinac Island which is 8 miles.

We traveled up there with my husband's parents and my parents. The campground was kept clean and the bathrooms were good along with a lot of water pressure, actually too much!

Our last camping trip for July 2003 was to Hoffmaster State Park. It had been two years since we visited that park last. The park is heavily wooded with pine trees. We only got in because there was a cancellation. Although, we were a little further from the bath house then we would have liked the weekend was nice. We went camping with some friends of ours. The few pictures you will see unfortunately turned out a bit dark. Believe it or not, we forgot our cameras and had to get a disposable one. The disposable camera didn't take real good pictures at the campsite.

Our second to last camping trip for the year was to Cadillac. My dad's favorite campground. My parents stayed with us for the weekend. Although, a two hour drive, it is well worth it if you are staying for a couple nights or more. It is located right in the town of Cadillac.
