Welcome to our 2002 Camping Trip Page. Here you will get to see our camping trips from the 2002 year. It was a memorable year since we had purchased a new camper. Our First camping trip for 2002 was our last camping weekend with our old trailer. It was a 97 Sportsmaster. We purchased the camper used in May of 2001. This camper was our very first travel trailer, before we owned a pop up. We discovered once we used the travel trailer for a couple trips that we were hooked, it was much more convenient and easier to set up once we got to the campground. This camping trip was to Wabasa Campground over the Memorial day weekend of 2002.
The next camping outing was the weekend right after we purchased our new camper. We went to Mitchell State Park in Cadillac, Michigan over the July 4th holiday. The park is right by two nice lakes, Lake Mitchell and Lake Cadillac. The boat you see below with the two tubes on the back is Mark's boat, David's brother. We were headed off to go tubing in Lake Cadillac.
This is Duke Creek campground, which is located in Cedar Springs, Michigan. It is a nice campground, although the lots are a quite a bit smaller than what we were used to and the fact there is only one bath house. Here we had full hookup though, which made it much nicer. Full hookup includes, water, sewer, and electric.
Here is our camping trip to Yankee Springs at Gun Lake which is located in Middleville, Michigan. That campground was recently updated. They had new fire pits and a brand new bath house. I have to say the park looked very nice. We were there a couple years ago, but since then, they have done a lot of work to it. This campground is one of our favorites because it is so close and has nice size lots. We were lucky to get in because of a cancellation.
Our last trip for the 2002 year was to Wabasa Campground in Rockford, MI over the Labor day weekend. Wabasa is our most favorite campground to date because it is only about forty five minutes from home, which makes it very convenient. Not only that, but the lots are a very nice size. They have full hookup (which we didn't get that weekend) and it is right by Wabasa lake. Although, Mark's boat wasn't up this weekend, it is a very nice lake to have the boat out on.
